I think it's a grave mistake to think that the story of Jesus began in the Gospel of Matthew at the birth of Christ, at the Christmas story. The fact is is that Jesus is the living son of God, he always has been, always will be, he is eternal, he is God very God. And so going all the way back to Genesis Chapter Three, when God promised that the savior to come in Genesis 3:15 would crush the head of the serpent, now we see the beginnings of the prophecies of Jesus Christ. And all through the Old Testament, we see Messiah prophesy that he's coming, he's coming, he's coming, he's going to save his people. Not only is he going to save his people, but he's going to save them from their sin. Isaiah 53 is the ultimate prophecy of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament and all of those prophecies in that beautiful chapter are fulfilled at the cross and then at the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
