The longer you've been in Christ, the more sensitive you become to your own sin, and probably a little bit more disgusted with yourself, in fact, that you become more aware of your own sin tendencies and your own nature, and there can be a frustration because you know theologically, sin has been defeated in your life. Sin no longer reigns over you. Yet this fleshly body, this body we have and our sinful mind still continues on and so we fight our flesh. This is what the Apostle Paul told us to do, that we fight and we battle against our flesh. But the fact is is that we need to understand progressive sanctification, that is God continually making us more and more like himself and like the Lord Jesus, and that will end in ultimate sanctification, that when you see Christ, you will be made just like him and all your sin is gone forever more, never again to be plagued by the curse.
