In our culture today of trying to make the church a glitzy, glamorous organization that is attractive to the unbeliever, very often, we have lost sight of what our real goal is to be as the church, and that is to be a healthy church that is pleasing to the Lord Jesus Christ. And one of the hallmarks of a healthy church is one that is fulfilling, really, the ideal of Ephesians Chapter Four in which we're told that God gave some as pastors and teachers, and what their purpose is is in the church is to equip the saints for the work of service. So a healthy church, one that is pleasing to the Lord is a church filled with servants, filled with people who are doing everything from helping clean the bathrooms to going door-to-door and handing out tracks and evangelizing the lost, to discipling children. Everything and anything you can think of in the ministry should be done by the church as a whole. That creates a healthy church.
