This is one of my favorite questions, as a pastor, when somebody comes to me and says, "How can I be a help to you?". I think the first, and best, answer is, be a faithful church member. Be one who is there in attendance, and one who's faithful in giving, and one who's faithful in serving, and I think one of our greatest examples of being a faithful follower is Timothy. Timothy was certainly a gifted young man. Probably by the age of 20, he was already preaching. He had been taught at the knees of his mother and grandmother, and the apostle Paul, recognizing that giftedness, brought him alongside him. But really Timothy, for much of his ministry, simply served as a servant to the apostle Paul, doing whatever Paul asked him to do. Ranging from bringing things to him, when he didn't have them, all the way to preaching in very difficult situations. And so we look to Timothy as an example of how to be a righteous and godly follower.
