The issue of waiting on the Lord is one of the weightiest issues in all of the Bible, and particularly is found very often in the Psalms. What we weigh here are the two issues of options that God has sovereignly and in his providence placed before us, and the knowledge that we have from scripture. Scripture is very clear on what we ought to do in every circumstance, whether it's our marriage, whether it's parenting, whether it's how to be a good employee or a good employer. Scripture is abundantly clear. But when faced with a challenge and with a question of do I wait on the Lord or do I move on, well, very simply, that's a matter of prayer, it's a matter of having already searched the scriptures to know what is right, and then take your options, and you will find every time that the Lord is faithful to lead you and to help you do that which is right. He's not going to make you guess and you suddenly have a disaster because you guessed wrong. I promise that he will lead and guide you.
