One of the earliest debates in the Christian Church had to do with the deity of Jesus Christ, and this was a major issue for the Church, and one question that was brought up is the idea of, is Christ a human being who was simply filled by God, or is Jesus Christ fully God? And we would say that that first position was, rightly, decided to be a heretical position. Jesus Christ was not merely a human being who was filled by God. Jesus is fully man and fully God, in a way that we can't fully understand. Some theologians call that the hypostatic union of Christ, that he is fully man, fully God, but we would never say that God came into a human being. It's God came as a human being, and therefore Jesus Christ, as God, is fully worthy of our worship.
