The Church of Jesus Christ is made up of all kinds of people. The Apostle Paul told the Corinthians, to their shame, that not many of them were wise, not many of them noble. In other words, he was kind of knocking their arrogance down a couple of steps.

But any local church may have everything from doctors and lawyers down to hourly workers at the local burger place, and everything in between. And one of the questions that comes up, and sometimes in heated fashion, is, is God in favor of unions or not? Well, that's a big question. The first question has to be, what does the union stand for?

If the union stands for continually pushing back against your employer and disobeying your employer, that's against scripture. Scripture says to obey those who are in authority over you. If a union is there to help protect people from ridiculous, unsafe situations, then perhaps they're fulfilling a good and a noble purpose. But every union has to be evaluated for its purposes. Does it line up with a godly purpose, or is it simply an organization that is there to create rebels against those that actually pay their paychecks?
