When we think about the idea of burnout, that's a non-biblical, not an un-biblical, but just a non-biblical term that we've come to associate with just kind of crashing, hitting a wall, whatever metaphors you want to use, just kind of coming to the end of yourself.

We want to get back to scripture though. And in scripture, spiritual burnout, if we want to use that word, can happen when you're trying to live a pseudo-Christian life and yet you're living in rebellion in this way or that way and yet you're wondering why you have this sense that God is against you or this sense that God is not close.

Well, that just causes pain. Multiple times in the Psalms, the psalmist says that when he's in sin, it hurts his body, his bones hurt. And so that can happen with Christians as well.

And so the first step, whatever you may think is burnout, is to get right with God, get on your knees and confess sin.
