The Church of Jesus Christ has a very delicate balance to strike. And we can go the one extreme or the other. On one extreme, a church wrongly designs itself completely around the unbeliever, that seeker-sensitive nonsense that says that we're here to try to make unbelievers comfortable with Jesus. Well, the fact is, unbelievers need to be very uncomfortable with Jesus Christ until they come to faith in Christ. But the other extreme is that the Church of Jesus Christ is also to be characteristically loving, that anyone who walks into the doors of your local church, one of the first things they should see and they should experience is love and care. As a matter of fact, Jesus told us. He told His disciples, and by extension us, that the world will know that you are a follower of Christ because of the love you have for one another. And so, yes, we preach the word, but also, we need to be loving and kind.
