I think sometimes we have a misconception that God testing us is for us to somehow pass the test and be proven that we are now completely Christ-like. Well the fact is is that's never going to happen until we reach glory. God will continue to test you. He'll continue to train you, and He does that through circumstances. He does that through the preached word. There's never a sense in which we can say I have achieved Christ-likeness, so the testing of God should stop. No, the testing of God is good for us. Hebrews 12 tells us that He disciplines those whom He loves. So as you receive the test from God, you do better and better. You become more and more like Christ until that day when we see Him as He is, and we become like Him.
