As a pastor, I often have conversations with church members, and even get emails and phone calls from those outside our church, asking a very simple question. How can I be transformed? How can I be more like Christ? And sometimes, someone is so concerned with their own sin, a sin pattern or an addiction of some sort, that just keeps eating their lunch, and so there becomes this sense of frustration, or how can I become more like Christ? Well, the fact is that you have tools at your disposal. You have the Word of God. Saturate yourself in the Word of God. If you think it's not enough, then do more and more. You have the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God within you is the power to obey. He is your helper. You have the Son of God, you have all the commands and the encouragements of Christ in all four Gospels, and saturate yourself in them. And of course, you have the church, you have your brothers and sisters in Christ. The Christian life is never meant to be walked alone, so surround yourselves with those tools.
