One of the hardest things we deal with as Christians is grief. It's very real. It's not made up. It is something that absolutely can just wreck your life and wreck your heart. It just feels like that's all you can think about.
Your mind feels split because part of you continues to grieve whatever circumstance, whatever loss you've experienced while the other part's still trying to live your life. And it may feel at times that that grief is not getting any better. The work of the Lord in your own heart may be so imperceptible that you can't even track any progress.
And this is when we go to texts like Psalm 27 that tell us it is good to wait on the Lord. Because the fact is, until the day you go home to heaven, you've successfully made it through every day of your life. Jesus said in Matthew 6 that you only worry about today, let tomorrow worry about itself. So don't make a chart. Don't try to track your grief. Just trust the Lord.
