Doesn't discipline steal the joy out of serving God?

Sometimes, in a less than friendly moment, one Christian may say to another who is suffering, "Well, clearly God is disciplining you." Can I tell you what the right answer to that statement is? The right answer is, yes, He is, and I thank you for saying that, because that means, according to Hebrews chapter 12, that I am one that He loves. The fact is, though, that God's discipline coming through various different trials and means that He puts in our lives, it hurts, and it's hard, and yet, at the same time, we're expected to continue serving Him, and continue being faithful in our families and in our local churches, and to proclaim the Gospel, but it is, in fact, that very discipline that makes us more able to serve. It qualifies us to serve, and so just understand that the discipline of the Lord is like a workout for an athlete. It makes you better at what it is you're called to do.

Siempre he dudado en decir que cualquier cosa no importa si puedo demostrar en las sagradas escrituras que le importa a Dios porque el hecho es que si algo le importa a Dios, nos tiene que importar a nosotros. Una tercera parte de la biblia tiene que ver con el final de los tiempos, tiene que ver con la profecía. Algunas de esas profecías ya se han cumplido, ciertamente, en cuanto a la persona de Jesucristo pero muchas, muchas de esas profecías aún están por venir, profecías sobre el regreso de Jesucristo y el reino de Dios, y cómo va a suceder todo eso. Y si le importa a Dios, tiene que importarnos a nosotros. Pero a nivel personal, a un nivel cotidiano, el hecho es que, la biblia tiene profecías porque nos motiva. Nos da esperanzas para el futuro. Al final de la primera epístola de Tesalonicenses, capítulo cuatro se nos dice que nos motivemos los unos a otros con palabras de profecía porque Cristo viene y a raíz de eso, obtenemos motivación.
